Rose de Jericho

The Rose of Jericho is a small plant that curls its branches and stems inward in the dry season to protect against the harsh desert environment they come from. They can maintain dormancy for several years before "resurrecting" themselves once moistened. It can take about 4 hours for the flowering plant to open, and in some cases it won't fully open for a day or two. This plant symbolizes rebirth, transformation, manifestation, enduring love, and longevity. It is said The Rose of Jericho is a powerful aid in calling in wealth, providing protection, bringing good luck, and absorbing negative energy. It is sometimes used in spells to "resurrect" an aspect of a person's life such as romance or income. The Rose of Jericho is also popular in Christianity as a Christmas and easter decoration because it symbolizes the resurrection of Christ. How to resurrect your Rose of Jericho: Get a bowl and fill it with water, preferably distilled, place your Jericho flower into the water until it is submerged completely, place in a the bowl and wait. The flower will slowly start to unfurl and regain color. Typically any longer "arms" or branches reaching out of the water will dry out and curl slightly. Changing  the water in the bowl every day to keep the plant clean, if you can’t do it every day do it every 3 days there may be a little dirt in the water. I like to add money, coins, and a splash of holy water to amplify prosperity, wealth, and protection. When you want to give the plant a rest, just take it out of the water to rest on a dry surface and let it dry out completely. These plants prefer to have a break from the water about once a week. Once a month, give your plant a week without water to let it dry up a little bit. When you want to give this plant a break for a while, simply store the dried root in a paper bag or in a cool, dry place when it won't get damaged.
